OMEGA-3 FATTY ACID ESSENTIAL FOR THE BODY?
Omega-3 fatty acids are considered essential
because they perform important functions throughout the body, while your body
cannot make enough of certain omega-3s on its own.
Why does
the body need omega-3?

DHA is a major structural component of brain cell membranes. It helps maintain
normal brain structure, communication between nerve cells, and cognitive
function.

EPA and DHA can help:
- Lower blood triglycerides

- Support healthy blood-vessel function
- Modulate inflammation

eye health
DHA is concentrated in the retina and is important for maintaining normal

The body cannot make ALA, so it is an
essential fatty acid. It can convert ALA into EPA and DHA, but the conversion
is relatively inefficient. Therefore, obtaining EPA and DHA directly from fish
or algae can be useful.
In simple terms: Omega-3 is important because it provides the body with the building
blocks and signaling molecules needed to maintain healthy cells, brain
function, vision, cardiovascular function and balanced inflammatory responses.
